Pictured left, is Mr E.A. King in 1909 when Bleriot completed his solo flight across the English Channel and The Dover Marquee Company was required to erect a marquee over his flying machine. The Dover Marquee Company Limited has been a member of the Made-up Textiles Association for over 40 years and continues to meet with the high standards set in manufacture and the Code of Practise for Hirers. The company holds a current Fire Certificate for fire retardancy standards as laid down in the Code of Practice for Hirers. This is recognised by U.K. Fire Officers as confirming to Home Office Circular DCOL/14/1995.

Mr E.A. King who founded the company started his working life as a sailmaker. After carrying out some repairs to a marquee for a catering company he started the Dover Marquee Co. It was not long before it became an established business covering Kent and the surrounding counties.
